Starting Pay Rate Range

$67,392.00 - $84,240.00

(Determined by the knowledge, skills, and experience of the applicant.)

Job Summary

A successful candidate would have experience in critical care services and be passionate about training health care colleagues in American Heart Aligned emergency response techniques.

Supports delivery of quality healthcare through the promotion and delineation of nursing professional development practice. Serves as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, researcher, consultant, and leader to enhance the skills and competency of caregivers throughout the health system in line with the organization purpose, vision, and values. Apply clinical expertise, as well as knowledge and skills in education theory and application, evidence-based practice, and research to support clinical practice and nursing professional development at Monument Health. Responsible for the continued development of nursing clinical practice through educational assessment, identification of issues and trends, establishing outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Role models ethical decision making, excellent patient experience skills, evidence-based clinical practice and life-long learning. Establish goals and priorities consistent with the mission and strategic priorities of Monument Health, as well as meeting applicable regulatory standards. Address the learning needs of diverse groups, utilizing creativity, innovation, evidence, and current professional nursing standards to support the provision of safe and quality health care throughout the Monument Health.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Onboarding and Orientation: Develops and facilitates delivery of system curriculum and structure for onboarding of nursing caregivers. Coordinates with other departments concerning orientation content. Coordinates, develops, and facilitates transition to practice programs.
  • Competency Management: Assists leaders and caregivers to identify competency needs. Assists in the development of competency objectives and verification methods. Maintains record of final competency materials developed during identified competency periods.
  • Education: Utilizes the theories and principles of adult learning to foster the learning process. Monitors practice environment for education gaps and performs periodic needs assessment to identify potential areas of growth. Develops and delivers system education based on identified needs using the appropriate education methods. Evaluates the effectiveness of system education provided. Coordinates and conducts an annual educational needs assessment for all clinical nurses. Utilizes multiple data sources and analyzes and makes recommendations regarding.
  • Role Development: Creates and maintains learning programs to assist in development of preceptors. Promotes acquisition and maintenance of professional certification through caregiver support and facilitation. Supports academic advancement of caregivers through mentoring.
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Establishes relationship with caregivers and leaders to evaluate needs, provide consultation, and facilitate learning. Collaborates with schools of nursing, paramedic programs, and elementary and secondary schools to organize and evaluate student clinical experiences. Involves learners, leadership and other key stakeholders in formulating desired outcomes, content design, implementation and evaluation.
  • Research, Evidence-Based Practice, Quality Improvement: Serves as educational resource and consultation for evidence-based practice on committees and councils as requested. Collaborates to monitor for change in industry standards, identification and promotion of current federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. Disseminates information related to evidence-based practice and regulatory standards to leaders and caregivers. Analyzes and synthesizes literature, research findings, evidence-based practices, policies, regulatory and professional standards to coordinate and participate in nursing educational activities across the Monument Health.
  • Standards of Practice and Performance: Understands and adheres to the American Nurses' Association's Code of Ethics for Nurses and the Association of Nursing Professional Practice and Development's Standards of Practice and Performance.
  • All additional duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required

Certifications - Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Education - Bachelor's Nursing

Preferred

Education - Master's in Nursing

Work Experience - 3+ years Clinical Experience

Physical Requirements:
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
